Pernille Fischer
Christensen graduated
from The National Film School of Denmark in 1999 with the film INDIEN,
in which Trine Dyrholm played the leading role. In 2000, INDIEN won an
award in Cannes in the Selection Cinefondation and Pernille received
the award for best film and best new talent at the International Film
School Festival in Munich. Before that, she had directed the short films
THE GIRL NAMED SISTER, HONDA HONDA and POESIE ALBUM. All three short
films have sent Pernille Fischer around the world and have earned her
awards at Montecatini Film Festival in 1994 and Poitiers International Film
Festival in 1997. But it was with the short film HABIBTI MY LOVE (2002),
that the Danish film business really opened their eyes to Pernille’s talent.
HABIBTI MY LOVE earned Pernille Fischer Christensen a Robert for best
short film in 2003 and the award for best Danish short film at the Odense
Film Festival in 2002. |
